Freq. Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about WorldCams, how it works, and how to keep your cameras secure.

About WorldCams
What is WorldCams? +
WorldCams is a directory of publicly accessible IP cameras from around the world. These are cameras connected to the internet without password protection, meaning anyone with the right tools can view them. We make them easy to browse in one place with a clean, modern interface.
Are these cameras hacked? +
No. Every camera listed on WorldCams is publicly accessible without any password or authentication. We do not bypass any security measures, exploit vulnerabilities, or use any credentials to access cameras. If a camera requires a password to view, it will never appear on WorldCams.
Is this legal? +
Yes. We only index cameras that are openly accessible on the public internet without any credentials. We do not circumvent any security systems or access controls. If you believe a specific camera listed here violates privacy laws in your region, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.
How often is the camera database updated? +
Our camera database is refreshed every day. Offline or dead cameras are automatically removed and new publicly accessible cameras are added each morning. This keeps the directory fresh and ensures you're seeing cameras that are actually live.
Using WorldCams
Why can't I see some camera details? +
Camera IP addresses, ports, and direct stream URLs are available to Premium subscribers only. Free users can browse camera thumbnails, view live snapshots, and heart their favourites — but the technical details are gated to protect against misuse and to support the running costs of the platform.
What's the difference between free and premium? +
Free users can browse up to 50 random cameras, view live snapshots, and heart their favourites.

Premium users ($4.99/month) get unlimited cameras, full camera IP and stream URL details, live stream access, advanced brand and country filters, the interactive world map, Most Loved sorting, and the My Cams favourites view.
How do I cancel my subscription? +
You can cancel anytime — no questions asked. Simply click the MANAGE button in the header while signed in, and you'll be taken to the Stripe billing portal where you can cancel your subscription. Your premium access continues until the end of your current billing period.
Why does a camera show "Signal Lost"? +
The camera may have gone offline since our last check, may be temporarily unavailable, or may have started blocking external connections. Our database is refreshed daily, so cameras that stay offline are removed automatically. Try the ⟳ REFRESH button or browse to another camera using ⚡ NEXT.
What browsers work best? +
WorldCams works best on Chrome and Firefox on both desktop and mobile. The interface is fully responsive — on mobile, filters are accessible via the ⚙ FILTERS button and all touch targets are sized for easy tapping.

My camera is listed — how do I get it removed? +
We respect all removal requests and act on them within 24 hours. Simply visit our Support page and send us your camera's IP address or a link to the camera page. No questions asked — we'll remove it promptly. To permanently prevent your camera appearing on WorldCams or similar sites, set a strong password on your device.
How do I secure my camera? +
The most reliable way to keep your camera private is to set a strong, unique password through your camera's admin panel. We also recommend:

— Disabling UPnP on both your camera and router to prevent automatic port forwarding
— Keeping your camera firmware up to date
— Placing cameras behind a VPN if remote access is needed

Check your camera's manual or manufacturer website for specific instructions.
