When you use WorldCams, we may collect:

• Account information — your email address when you sign up via Clerk authentication
• Subscription data — your Stripe customer ID and subscription status (we never store card details)
• Usage data — IP address and request counts for rate limiting (not logged permanently)
• Cookies — Clerk uses cookies to maintain your session

We do not collect your name, location, or any identifying information beyond your email.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data solely to:

• Authenticate you and maintain your session
• Manage your subscription tier (free vs premium)
• Process payments via Stripe
• Prevent abuse via rate limiting
• Send transactional emails (e.g. payment receipts) via Stripe

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the service.

4. Third-Party Services

WorldCams uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

5. Camera Data

WorldCams displays publicly accessible IP cameras sourced from the open internet. We do not operate these cameras. We store only the camera's IP address, port, stream URL, and a thumbnail image. No audio is ever recorded or stored.

If you believe a camera shown on WorldCams violates someone's privacy, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your account data is stored in a SQLite database on secure cloud infrastructure. We take reasonable precautions to protect this data including restricted access and regular backups. However, no system is perfectly secure.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your data, contact us and we will action it within 7 days.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR or other applicable privacy legislation, including:

• The right to access the data we hold about you
• The right to correct inaccurate data
• The right to request deletion of your data
• The right to data portability
